About Us
About Our Breeding Curriculum:
All of our dogs' hips and elbows are digitally x-rayed to acquire an OFA grade before
being considered for breeding. We also have their adult heart checks done by a Board
Certified Cardiologist. We test Thyroid, Patellas and Cystinuria as deemed necessary.
Dogs that I choose to breed to, also have these health clearances. Our puppies are also
checked by a Board Certified Cardiologist before they leave to their New Homes.
Dogs are bred in accordance to the Newfoundland Breed Standard, which consists
of: an exceptional temperament, soundness of structure, health and type.
About Us:
Kim and Ross adopted their first Newfoundland in the mid nineties.
They began their breeding program under the prefix Worcester Newfoundland's (Kim's maiden
name), unsure of a "heart-filled" kennel name to call themselves. In 2001 they decided on and
adopted the Whisper Hill name.
They are active members of the Newfoundland Club of America and the Newfoundland Club of
New England . Kim is a past club secretary and newsletter editor for the Cheshire Kennel Club.
Both Kim and Ross are past directors for Seacoast Newfie Fun Days .
Ross is a draft cart training instructor and donates much of his time instructing at carting clinics
for various dog clubs throughout New England. In addition he is a skilled wood craftsman and
builds custom draft carts that he has sold world wide. For more information on carting and draft
carts you can e-mail him. whnewfs@ne.rr.com
Whisper Hill's Newfoundland kennel is located in a rustic, rural community in southwestern New
Hampshire. There are 4 meticulously restored covered bridges within a 5 mile radius of their
home, as well as several historical sites including a few very old cemeteries (at which parts of
the movie "Jamanji" were filmed), and a "reportedly" haunted old colonial home that was
renovated to a Bed and Breakfast Inn.
The Whisper Hill property was once a part of a family operated dairy farm that kept the
township supplied with daily deliveries of fresh milk .
Both Kim and Ross operate their kennel based on this motto that was shared with them by a
prominent dog breeder many years ago.
" Truly, a kennel's success isn't solely based on the dogs that you have, but most importantly,
on the friends and comrades that you have made along the way."
